Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve Advent Calendar - Door number 18

Behind number 18 is Redshank. We've been seeing a shift with some of these birds moving onto the wet slacks that have been developing over the last few months. They have a loud piping call if you happen to disturb them. Their long legs and long bill make them ideally suited to probing into the wet mud to feed on invertebrates hiding there.
