Short-eared owls

When walking around the dunes you may come across this sight flying in front of you. Sometimes you only get a glimpse other times they glide around you. Short-eared owls come across the North Sea from Europe to winter here on our coasts. You may remember the one we took to Berwick Swan and Wildlife Trust (here is the blog of it being released). It's important to keep to the paths to avoid disturbing these amazing birds particularly after their migration when they will be tired and hungry.
