Beached birds - 2nd April

Over the last week or so Reserve staff and volunteers have been surveying the shore, following notification of a number of dead sea birds found at various locations along the east coast.  To date in excess of 60 puffins, 5 guillemots, 4 razorbills, 1 shag & 1 cormorant have been recovered.  We liaise closely with North East Beached Bird Group to ensure our data is included with that of other sites, to enable a more accurate picture of sea bird mortality - to allow investigations as to why they occur.
