Short Eared Owl

Last Friday we received a phone call from a member of the public with two dogs who had found an owl with a suspected injured wing. We drove down to Budle Bay and on arrival we found it to be a short-eared owl which looked really underweight. After taking it to the Berwick Swan and Wildlife Trust http://www.swan-trust.org/index.htm it was decided that the wing looked fine however the bird would need feeding up before releasing. Great news on the wing and we are now waiting to get the all clear to collect the bird and release it back to where we found it.
