Magnificent Brent


These Light-bellied Brent Geese making most of the vegetation available alongside the causeway.

If you see these by the causeway please down and pass with caution, repeated flushing causes valuable energy loss! They need as much energy as possible to keep warm during these cold months and build fat reserves for their migration north in spring.

50% of the East-Atlantic race can be found at Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve during the winter having migrated south from their breeding grounds in Svalbard.
